Hi Derek,
when you “tried again”, was your selection still active? You may have deactivated it, and would then need to make your selection again (Steps 5-7).

Also, using an eraser tool when the selection is active will also create the same result as hitting ‘DELETE’. Give it a try and experiment. Hope this helps

This is great I got it right the first time (newbie on PS) … I hit delete on step 11 and got a white effect on the text but when trying again (and again) nothing happens when I hit delete?
