Challenge
For over 35 years, the Caledon Parent-Child Centre has been a key part of the Caledon community, committed to nurturing children and strengthening the family unit. The brand name created confusion about its services and did not fully acknowledge the evolving role of caregivers in a family. To better represent its mission and adapt to today’s diverse family dynamics, it was essential to create a brand that aligned with its goals of enhancing child development and included all members of the modern family unit. Seeking a fresh and inclusive identity, the client enlisted BTI for expert help in rebranding, including a new name and a refreshed visual identity.
Challenge
BrightStart Caledon Family Centre or BrightStart Caledon, formerly known as Caledon Parent-Child Centre (CPCC), is dedicated to enhancing family well-being and fostering optimal child development. Established decades ago to serve the needs of our community’s youngest and most vulnerable, its original branding posed challenges. The existing brand name caused confusion about its services and overlooked the vital role of caregivers in evolving family dynamics. Seeking inclusivity and clarity, the client partner enlisted BTI’s strategic rebranding expertise. With the aim to authentically represent its services and honour diverse family structures, ensuring alignment with its mission of strengthening families and promoting child development in today’s multifaceted society was very important.
Solution
BTI began the rebranding by conducting thorough primary and secondary research, analyzing the organization’s historical data and evaluating Caledon’s changing landscape and community needs. Insights from focus groups and surveys, along with a meticulous name-generation process, resulted in the new name, BrightStart Caledon Family Centre, which reflects the organization’s role in supporting giving local families a strong start. The descriptor was updated from ‘Parent-Child Centre’ to ‘Family Centre’ to better encompass the inclusive nature of modern families, including caregivers like grandparents. BTI designed a modern, timeless logo to ensure long-term relevance and crafted a forward-looking narrative that highlights the organization’s diverse services, inclusivity, and legacy. We also developed a comprehensive brand book with guidelines for logo usage, brand colors, and other visual elements.

foundations, shaping a forward-looking brand story highlighting its diverse services and legacy. BTI developed a modern, timeless logo and a comprehensive visual identity captured in a brand book. We also offered recommendations for a brand relaunch and website redesign, maintaining
ongoing stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment with expectations and goals throughout the rebranding process.
