Challenge

CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives are beneficial to both the local community, and to the corporations themselves. Each year Whirlpool Canada runs an annual employee-run United Way campaign. In addition to matching employee donations, Whirlpool Canada’s aim is to be a responsible corporate citizen and to allow their employees to contribute to the community while building leadership and a sense of pride. And also, to have FUN!

Challenge

Develop an annual internal CSR campaign that motivates and engages employees to participate and donate. Each year BTI works to outdo the many amazing themes created in the past, many of which have won the title of “Outstanding Employee Campaign” award. Campaign elements typically include a variety of cleverly themed promotional materials to help generate buzz within the Whirlpool office, PowerPoint templates for campaign planning and communication to encourage involvement, and the main focal point—an interactive pledge tracker to keep the campaign goals top of mind.

Fundraising goals are met or exceeded with a remarkable increase in donations year after year, and employee participation continues to hit all-time highs. Many of the creative campaigns won Platinum and/or Gold awards in the Pro-Bono category at the Hermes Creative Awards.
