Challenge

How do you build a new imported coffee pod product, under a new brand, in a highly competitive and growing category in order to win government investment? This was the challenge facing 2 young entrepreneurs from Rwanda looking for planning help to launch a coffee pod product in Canada. They contacted BTI first to develop a marketing campaign but through consultation, quickly realized they needed a business plan, financial plan AND marketing plan.

Solution

As a full-service marketing, strategy, and creative agency, BTI supported Rwanda Hills Coffee with all their business needs. We developed a market / competitive assessment, product assessment, brand value proposition and facilitated the development of a full financial business plan. Lastly BTI developed a short and long-term, regional and national marketing plan.

Result

BTI completed the plan by providing the expertise in the Canadian market, coffee market and direct to consumer path to purchase strategy. Completed as a full package for the owners, the plan was presented to Government of Rwanda for grant approval. Due to insufficient investment, the grant was not approved, however Rwanda Hills Coffee owners were extremely happy with the work BTI completed through the finished plan and the consultation throughout.
