Spring is springing here, and with that, comes the annual task of spring cleaning. For individuals, spring cleaning is an opportunity to take an inventory of your home, to clean and organize the places you have neglected all winter.
This year, the Connectors at BTI thought – why not take the same approach for our client partners’ digital footprint? Maintaining a business online involves several recurring tasks that are essential to ensure you are accurately represented online.
Website Checklist :
ロUpdate website software – ensure that website content management systems (CMS), plugins and all apps are up-to-date. This is important when it comes to website security.
ロ Review website analytics – this is helpful for determining if there are areas for improvement from a user experience perspective. Reviewing analytics can also hint to other problematic areas that may need a closer eye.
ロUpdate content – there is nothing quite like finding a page that you wrote and published in 2013. Take the time to review your website content, including staff names and contact information, services and more.
ロ Perform a back-up – backup your website to avoid losing critical data in case of a glitch or security breach. Make sure it is stored in a secure location for extra protection.
ロGoogle – make sure your Google business card is up-to-date. This includes office hours, map, and responding to customer reviews posted.
Social Media Checklist :
ロUpdate your social media profiles – this could include refreshing your profile image, company descriptions, links and more.
ロAssess followers – check your social media followers for spam accounts that could be hurting your follower engagement.
ロFollow friends – we also recommend following your client partners, local businesses and relevant thought leaders in your industry for added insights and leverage
ロClean your social media content calendar – organize all your ideas in a content calendar, schedule one content idea per day and write short, eye-catching captions for each content.
Marketing Checklist :
ロReview your marketing strategy against business KPIs.
ロCreate a timeline for the next 6 months – we find it helpful to lay out marketing strategies visually to ensure all campaigns are result oriented.
ロCheck your budget – take some time to check what your budget goals are and change your workflow accordingly.
ロRefresh Your Marketing Strategy – do a quick market research to see where your brand stands among your competitors. If the results are not what you hope, it’s time to change your marketing strategy.
